I've just been reading The New York Times Book Review for May 28th - the food issue- where author Marion Nestle (there's some irony in that name for a foodie) is quoted:
"One third of all vegetables consumed in the United States come from just three sources: french fries, potato chips and iceberg lettuce."
Why am I not surprised in a nation where I'm told school nutritionists classified tomato ketchup as a vegetable serving?
