You're lucky to get any seeds at all. Last year when I grew sunflowers, they were totally eaten by the birds before I saw even a single seed. There weren't even any seed shells left behind, the seed heads were just empty.


These sunflowers are a lovely colour.

We saved some sunflower seeds but when they came up they had long stems with teeny tiny heads on top. Must have been F1s.
