Yolanda Elizabet

Love that Hamamelis of yours, it's very pretty. I live quite close to the arboretum Kalmthout (in Belgium) known for its outstanding, world famous collection of Hamamelis. To be there at this time of year is true bliss. ;-)BTW it is good to see that you have already so many lovely things fot eh table to chase away the winter blues inside.

I've just come across your blog and like your pics of plants in a vase. Good idea.

Just wondering if your witch hazel is actually a wintersweet (Chimonanthus praecox). Only suggesting this because I'm looking at something very similar outside my conservatory window.

--Hello and thanks for stopping by. Plant id is a tricky one especially when you take over an established garden! Looked at a pic of Chimonanthus in the T&M catalogue (will look in RHS later). I can see why you say it may be Chimonanthus. However the petal in my pic are more buttery colour and the wood in my pic isn't so dark as described. Maybe I should take a cutting to Wisley?!
