Organic gardening and vegetable growing within flooding distance of the Thames, weekend allotmenteering overlooking the North Downs, and tending a monastery garden.
The first heirloom tomato (Mortgage Lifter) was picked on Saturday. Pinkish with rounded shoulders and firm meaty flesh, it's the first beefsteak I've grown.

You've been busy posting while I was gone! I'm glad you got both garlic and tomatoes to grow from what I sent you.
What happened to the other tomatoes? I've had quite a good harvest this year.
I also found a good yellow cherry tomato, blondkopfchen. I have some seeds if you're interested for next year.
